Parental Support

We are pleased to continue our relationship with Jacqui McHugh, our Parental Support Advisor (PSA).Jacqui is happy to offer support and advice to parents regarding to concerns (in or out of school) relating to their child.

She can be contacted on 07825 380114.

Queries and Concerns

All class teachers are available after school for a quick word – jot a note in your child’s diary if you would like to speak to a teacher.If you feel your concern is not addressed to your satisfaction, you may then speak to the Year Leader by requesting a meeting via the school office. If this still does not resolve the situation, you can request to see an Assistant Headteacher or Head of School.

The Head of School and/or Assistant Headteacher are also on duty in the school playground before and after school in order to address any concerns as and when they occur.

If you wish to make a written complaint, please request a form from the school office.

We, York Road Junior School and Language Unit, are the Data Controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act.  We collect information from you, and may receive information about you from your previous school.  We hold this personal data and use it to:

·        monitor and report on your progress;

·        provide appropriate pastoral care, and

·        assess how well your school is doing.

 

This information includes your contact details, national curriculum assessment results, attendance information*, characteristics such as ethnic group, special educational needs and any relevant medical information. 

 

We will not give information about you to anyone outside the school without your consent unless the law and our rules permit it.

We are required by law to pass some of your information to the Local Authority (LA), and the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).
