Even more pictures!

This is the last lot of pictures for now, from the terribly well behaved Mrs Ruberto and Mrs Evans.

If you have any pictures from the week that you think should be on the website, either send them into school to be scanned or email them directly to rbarnes@york-road.kent.sch.uk

Here’s a fresh selection of snaps, this time from Mrs. Macknelly’s group.

Year 4 Day trip to Valenciennes

Ecole Jean Froissart staff meet York Road Staff

Ecole Jean Froissart staff meet York Road Staff

On 18th June, forty-two year 4 pupils and six members of staff set off at 0545 to catch the shuttle to France. We arrived in Valenciennes at 1130 French time and spent a wonderful afternoon with the pupils and staff at our link school Ecole Jean Froissart.

There was time to play with the French pupils, to have a tour of the school and watch some lessons, to visit the town and buy some cakes and to share some delicious local delicacies –tarte au chuc – prepared by the staff and children. Everyone had a super time. The journey was good, the weather was wonderful and the French welcome was overwhelming. It was a memorable day for everyone!

We hope next year that pupils from the Ecole Jean Froissart can visit us and we can repay their kindness.

Take a look at this French newspaper website to see how they reported on our visit!

Also, this is our partner school’s report on their own website.

Miss Wiltshire on “trapeze”

These photos deserve a post all of their own! Miss Wiltshire is a star. More photos soon.

Lots and lots of pictures

First of all, thank you to everyone who turned up so quickly on Friday to collect the children… It was very much appreciated! The office staff were also very pleased not to have to take loads of phone calls. The power of the internet!

I didn’t get chance to upload any more photos over the weekend, as I was far too busy (sleeping). But here’s the first stash, from the eyes of Miss Wiltshire – click on the photo to make it bigger!

We’re back! (Fri 4.30pm)

Come and get your tired little angels! No really, come and get them. Please.

Almost home (Fri 4.20pm)

Very nearly back! Might even be as little as 15 minutes, as I thougt from the map in the last post. I just didn’t want to argue with the driver. He now agrees. Remember: we are arriving in YORK ROAD itself.

“Are we nearly there yet?” (Fri 4.05pm)

Yes. Just left the services. The driver reckons we could be back in 45 minutes if the M25 is kind to us.

Service stop! (Fri 3.50pm)

Time for a breather from the stuffy coach.

M25 (Fri 3.25pm)

Just joined M25. If we factor in a service station stop, we still hope to be back around 5pm.
