French Afternoon

Parents and carers were invited to find out more about how French is taught in school by observing and participating in demonstration lessons, food tastings, listening to songs and conversations in French and playing games.

In year 6 pupils combined their ICT skills with the theme of Money Week in a cross curricular project which involved forming a company, creating a business plan , writing, recording and producing a CD to help people learn French. The project resulted in sales of the CD reaching almsot £70!!

There was a very special visitor in school: Bearami the Bear from Build A Bear Workshop, Bluewater very kindly presented the children with a unique bear which speaks French and which has been donated as a  prize in the end of term raffle. It’s not too late to buy tickets!

And where was Flic Floc during the celebrations? Well, she had gone to France as the team mascot for Owen Macknelly’s sponsored cycle ride from London to Paris, in aid of the EllenorLions Hospices. Photos to follow.

Many thanks to all the parents and carers who visited the school last Wednesday and to all the teachers and pupils who worked so hard to make the afternoon such a success.
